One of my best friends, Maddie is getting married next year and I was so happy to take photos and be at her wedding dress try-on with her Mom and some of our other friends. Even though this was the first wedding dress try-on I’d ever been to, I knew these photos would be special.

As Maddie tried on her favorite dresses at 2 different boutiques, it was magical to witness all of the emotion she was feeling when she found the dress she loved most. She came out, looked at her Mom and started crying, then we all started crying too. (photos of this dress are not included despite how beautifully emotional they are so that Maddie’s dress choice can remain secret until next year.) It was so moving to see Maddie so happy for the wedding and the future of her and her fiance’s relationship. Maddie is such a kind, inclusive, welcoming, intelligent, bubbly soul. I am endlessly grateful to know her and to have found my soul sister in Colorado!

All of these incredible emotions just made me want to document more of these dress try-ons for other people getting married who want all of their closest friends to come along for the experience too!

This wedding day was perfect. We honestly has no idea if an October wedding in Denver would mean it would be snowing. Luckily, no snow, but we did get a pretty intense downpour 20 minutes or so after I arrived. We had enough time to get some photos of these two on their bikes before the rain came, then afterwards, an amazing double rainbow appeared and this couple was so happy about “how perfectly gay this is!!” I loved seeing all of their family members who loved them the most to be there to support their self solemnization in Denver.

This wedding was so emotional for good reason! What an amazing city we live in where love can be seen as love no matter who it it is. I was so happy that these two chose me to witness and document their special day.

It was a treat to assist Eleanor for Candice and Angela’s wedding in Boulder. The weather was gorgeous, despite the drizzle we got during the ceremony, the venues were breathtaking at the top of a mountain and at the St. Julien in Boulder. Candice and Angela were so kind, joyful and gracious throughout their day. They gave such nice toasts/speeches before dinner, made sure to hug and thank each and every guest who attended and made sure to enjoy their day! Witnessing their love was so special.

Kelli and Chelsea were so sweet and waited so long for their wedding day to arrive. With Covid restrictions, everything kept getting postposed. Kaitlin at Kaitlin Shea Weddings was so great with coordinating new plans and making everything go smoothly. Kelli and Chelsea have the most sweet family and friends, which was not surprising once I got to know them and their wonderful personalities. I loved much emotion the day had.

I kept forgetting to post these photos and finally remembered because Kaitlin and I are getting tattoos later this month and I'm so excited. Anyway, couples with tattoos are always amazing.

- Fatima and Roy’s Wedding - I’ve known Fatima and Roy since middle school and this was such a beautiful day to be a part of. I cried during their vows, first dances and a few other times. Weddings are so special to me. I get to watch people in love be their truest selves together for an entire day and document it all. It’s one of the most emotionally inspiring things to witness <3

Julia and Ryan's Denver, Brown Palace Wedding

May 11th, 2019 - Julia and Ryan's Denver, Brown Palace Wedding

I was second shooting this wedding with Hannah Simpson and only interacted with Julia and Ryan for about 6 hours. Their entire wedding guest count only included 37 people. They truly wanted their closest friends and family to experience the day with them. Their parents and friends were so welcoming and kind. Everyone had great things to say about Ryan and Julia together. From this short time being with everyone, I felt like I knew Ryan and Julia so well. They both talked with me about how my day was going, how I was feeling with my photography growth and working with Hannah. It was so nice of them to take time to connect with Hannah and I. It’s easy to see how much love they have for each other and for other people in their lives.
