Another cool shoot with AJ and friends!
Denver Family Photographer
I’ve been taking photos for Haley and Tinley for a few years. Haley is always on board for new photos of her and her daughter. Haley has been through all the ups and downs of life over the past 2 years, but the most important thing to her is Tinley. I’m always inspired by Haley’s devotion to preserving memories of her and her daughter. I’ve done at least 5 sessions for them and Haley always has matching outfits and shoes. Haley always says “ we do whatever Tinley wants to”
The way she means this though isn’t by letting Tinley be spoiled, she means that if she gets off her night shift as a nurse and has the day open to spend with Tinley and Tinley wants to go swim at the lake, they do it. Tinley teaches Haley to do spontaneous and fun things just because. I love the way they lead their lives and get through all the tough times of being a single mom. It makes me so happy after I deliver a photo gallery to her and I get a text saying they’re her favorite photos ever.
Every moment in life is the most important. That concept is amplified when someone has a baby since they’re physically changing so quickly and obviously. It’s such a good metaphor for embracing the present moment and treating every day like it’s a celebration- because. it is <3

Andrew & Estelle - Rocky Mountain Sky Pond Proposal Photographer
I’ve only known Andrew and Estelle for about 4 months, but they are already 2 of my closest friends. They’re both such kind people. Estelle is always paying attention to details for organizing things for our big friend group and being such a good host whenever we go to hers and Andrew’s house. She lets me borrow her clothes all the time and is the best about remembering things to do for other people when they ask her for a favor. Andrew has the best energy to be around. Literally always smiling, down for any adventure and always the life of the friend group. So obviously when we all woke up early on a Saturday, Andrew was the first one up at 3:30 am to start our adventure. Our group of 9 people hiked the 11 miles to Sky Pond to see our friends get engaged! All I feel is love and gratitude for all of these beautiful people. This location was perfect for a proposal. Afterwards, we had lunch and drank some champagne together. Andrew and Estelle have been together for 8 years and I’m so happy they’re finally officially getting married.
Boulder, CO Branding Headshot Photographer
This photoshoot with Ryann was beautiful. The last time we saw each other was in February! 6 months later, we got together to make more magic for Ryann’s business. We wanted to take advantage of the beautiful wildflowers in Boulder so we found a pretty, secluded open field to take some photos at before going to Boulder creek. I love spending an hour or so with Ryann to take photos and talk about life.
Vacations with my family are more important to me now than they’ve ever been. It’s the only time we all actually get to full relax together. Usually, I’m the only one on vacation when I visit Illinois. So the week we all spent in Northern Minnesota doing nothing but swim, canoe, read and make meals together was incredible.
It was a restorative week of listening to my body and mind’s needs. I taught myself more about slowing the pace of the my life down and being more intentional each day. Why spend time doing things that are unfulfilling or that cause stress?
Each moment of life is magic, every moment is the most important and no moment can be relived.
I’ve spent the past 3 months or so recommitting my life to doing things that align with my beliefs and having stronger boundaries with work and rest. Because we’re humans, we are innately worthy of receiving good things and enjoying life. I do my best to treat each moment of life as a ceremony- because it is. Since shifting my thoughts to this new perspective, I’ve been able to get myself to a better mental place than I’ve been at in over 6 months, but I would not have gotten here without choosing to fully trust myself to make huge changes. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s always the perfect time to change your life <3

Erik and Sarah’s Boulder, CO Mountain Wedding Photographer
This wedding started at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. The ceremony was at the foothills of the Flat Irons, then we drove up Flagstaff mountains for some amazing views (including a TORNADO) before going to the Flagstaff house for their reception and dinner. Erik and Sarah are great together. They had lots of down time to be present together. Their intimate wedding was beautiful and allowed them to connect with the select few friends and family who were there for them. Boulder weddings always amaze me!
Headshot Photographer in Boulder, Colorado
Headshots at Chautauqua are always breathtaking. The flat irons and open field is such a gorgeous area. I took some photos for Jason and I was so thrilled that he wanted to include his dog. I was even more excited when he asked if I could take some photos of him with his girlfriend Tara who came along too!! Couples sessions make my heart so happy. A week or so after I sent the photos to Jason, he let me now how special the moments were between him and Tara that I captured. The little moments full of emotion between Jason and Tara give me so much hope for love and goodness in the world. This session was only about 30 minutes long but it was great.
Couples photos are so much better with all the dogs! It was raining all morning and we were expecting a foot of snow in Colorado later that afternoon. I met Leanna and Karl in Longmont and the dogs loved sniffing in the rain. We took lots of photos and used lots of hot dogs to bribe the dogs. We made it home right before the snow started and it was great. I loved taking these photos for Karl and Leanna and giving them these photos of them their little babies.
Headshot Photographer in Boulder Colorado for Women in Business-
Ryann’s Women's Business Coach Headshot Session at Betasso Preserve - Boulder, CO was so beautiful. Ryann and I realized halfway through our session while chatting that we actually met each other about 2 years ago at an entrepreneur meeting in Boulder and we have a mutual friend! I love these sessions. We were able to spend time getting to know each other while getting natural photos for Ryann’s business.
Boulder, CO Graduation Photographer at Chautauqua Park
These are photos of Jess at her Boulder, CO Chautauqua Graduation Photo Shoot. She earned her masters in Environmental Studies here in Boulder. So of course we had to take photos near the beautiful mountains of Boulder. and stop at the Rayback for a beer to finish our session :)
Graduation season is coming up faster than you think!
Send me an email and let’s plan a session to document and celebrate your achievements.
Eldora, CO Lost Lake Hike
This hike was a perfect challenge with lots of hiking uphill and about 4.5 miles round trip. The hike goes through pine groves, past waterfalls and up to Lost Lake which has gorgeous views of the mountains in the distance and beautiful water.
I got to hike this trail with my childhood friend who came to Colorado for a weekend to visit and enjoy the mountains.
Boulder, CO Wedding Photographer - Wedgewood Weddings
Venue: Wedgewood Weddings - Boulder, CO
Photographers: (myself) and Mackenzie at Mackro Photography - https://www.mackrophotography.com/
Aleece and Jeff’s Boulder Creek wedding at WedgeWood was gorgeous!
I arrived and met the groomsmen to start taking photos with Mackenzie. This entire bridal party was hilarious. Typically, groups of people need prompting to look more natural and to relax a bit. These people were already there! They were cracking jokes nonstop and laughing, looking incredible! It was a challenge to reign them all in to take a photo of them looking at the camera with more serious faces. I would take this kind of challenge any day.
It started drizzling after the ceremony, so we took some quick group photos, but then there was a downpour with tons of thunder and lightning. No one was fazed- the cocktail hour moved under the tent where dinner would be and we ran out to take photos whenever the rain let up a little.
Saint Mary's Glacier Hike in Idaho Springs, CO is a 1.5 mile loop. This trailhead was very crowded on a Saturday in September, but the spaciousness at the top of the glacier was great and not crowded. This trail has a gorgeous view of the lake and the glacier at the top. It snowed after I hiked back down to the car!!
Saturday Lake Hike - The weather was gorgeous this day. It was very warm around 11am and by 2 or 3pm, rain started falling and the temperatures dropped. It was a nice break from the harsh sun.
The blues here are incredible. I already want to go back :)
Check out this link from Just Go Tavel more details about the hike here: Just Go Travel
August 10th, 2019
I had been to Dream lake once in October of 2018. It was a foggy, rainy/snowy day. The visibility was only as good as about 20 feet in front of me. Going back to this lake and up to Emerald Lake in August of 2019, I got to see the mountains in the distance that I had never seen before! I loved this difference in weather patterns and season.
These lakes are great hikes to get to with stunning views and beautiful at any time of the year.
Rocky Mountain National Park Day Hike to Gem Lake - August 2019
This was my first trip to the Rockies this summer. I bought an annual park pass earlier in July and wanted to start getting more use out of it for the rest of summer. This place is amazing. I’ve been to the Rockies a few times since I was 12 years old and I always want to go back and explore more of this park. My goal is to go back a few more times before September :)
