Colorado Engagement Photographer - Clinton Gulch Dam Surprise Proposal

Colorado Engagement Photographer - Clinton Gulch Dam Surprise Proposal

Andie and I met in Illinois when we were 12 or 13. We did club gymnastics together for a few seasons, then we went off to different high schools and didn’t keep really keep in touch. At least 5 years later, Andie and I both end up in the Denver area of Colorado. We got dinner together and instantly reconnected like we had never stopped being friends. Andie is one of those people who makes you feel 10x better than you already did after spending time with her. She has amazing advice, insight and is such a supportive friend.

Our lives have changed drastically since we reconnected in Colorado last year, and now she’s engaged!!! Andie and Kevin met through mutual friends in Denver, but realized they had mutual friends in college too. So they’ve been in close proximity to each other off and on for a few years and finally connected in Colorado. I met Kevin once awhile ago at Andie’s birthday party and he was just as great as she was. We had great conversation for a few hours at that party. Five months later, I got a text from Kevin asking if we could talk on the phone sometime and told me he was planning to propose! And the next few weeks, we secretly planned everything out.

November 6th was the day! I got to the reservoir early, made friends with some fishermen, then hid near a tree and waited for Kevin and Andie. There was snow on the ground but the sun was so warm that I was wearing a t-shirt! Andie and Kevin walked around near the water, and Kevin had previously drawn a picture of the lookout he was going to propose at. So when they got to the lookout spot, Kevin showed Andie his drawing that included a sketch of himself down on one knee. Watching this unfold was so emotional and I loved it all.

There are no coincidences. Andie and I both ending up in Denver at this time of our lives was meant to be. I’m so grateful for friends like her that I’ve been able to effortlessly reconnect with and make amazing memories together.

Boulder, CO High School Senior Graduation Photos

This senior photo shoot was great. The views of the flat irons are gorgeous here and it was a nice warm afternoon. I had spent the week in Boulder dog sitting and was feeling kind of off a day or two before this session. Once I got outside and meet Martin and his Mom, everything was great. My favorite part of photo sessions are getting to know people. I love connecting and helping people feel comfortable/confident in their photos. After spending an hour together taking photos, my mood had lifted 10x higher than it was before. I’m always amazed at how powerful sunshine, nature and good energy is.

Lana is incredibly talented and I’m always impressed with what she’s working on. Her lucid dreaming business is always going to the next level and helping people mitigate depression and reach deeper layers of themselves through dreamwork. I love spending time with Lana- I’m always reinvigorated about my own business afterwards.

We took lots of photos and played with all the color that’s still here with the longer than usual Fall in Colorado.

I met Maddie & Tristin in the summer right when I started dating my boyfriend. (Tristin and my boyfriend are childhood best friends) When I met Maddie and Tristin, I remember how inclusive and welcoming they both were. Maddie sent me a text introducing herself before we all went to Wyoming for a weekend together, then we spent 3 days together and got close pretty quickly. Honestly, since that weekend in June, I knew I had an amazing group of friends for life.

Maddie and Tristin are the most kind, fun and conversational people. They met each other when Maddie interviewed Tristin for a communications company she worked for in Michigan while Tristin was living in New Mexico. After that, they started talking, dating and traveling to see each other. Eventually, Maddie decided to move to New Mexico so they could live together, then they moved to Colorado a few years later. The timing of all our lives lining up with each other has been unreal. I’m so grateful to be connected with Maddie and Tristin and to have them as some of my closest friends. Couples photos are always special, but the more emotional and personal connections with friends like this make it so much better. <3

Albuquerque, New Mexico Balloon Fiesta Photographer

9/30/21-10/2/21

I had only been to New Mexico for a few hours a few times for work before I went on this trip. So anything further than Raton was the furthest South I had ever been. When I first moved to Colorado, I heard about the Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico and wanted to go for the whole time I’ve lived here, but never made it until now. Going to Albuquerque with this group of people was the best experience. I had all my friends and boyfriend being my tour guides showing me the best food places, where they grew up and giving the best energy.

Waking up for sunrise to see the hot air balloons with all these people that I love made me so happy. This trip reminded me how incredible it is to have so many amazing people in my life who care about me as much as I care for them. It feels like I’ve known these beautiful souls for a lifetime. I’ll always be obsessed about documenting moments with people and places that I love.

I’ve been taking photos for Haley and Tinley for a few years. Haley is always on board for new photos of her and her daughter. Haley has been through all the ups and downs of life over the past 2 years, but the most important thing to her is Tinley. I’m always inspired by Haley’s devotion to preserving memories of her and her daughter. I’ve done at least 5 sessions for them and Haley always has matching outfits and shoes. Haley always says “ we do whatever Tinley wants to”

The way she means this though isn’t by letting Tinley be spoiled, she means that if she gets off her night shift as a nurse and has the day open to spend with Tinley and Tinley wants to go swim at the lake, they do it. Tinley teaches Haley to do spontaneous and fun things just because. I love the way they lead their lives and get through all the tough times of being a single mom. It makes me so happy after I deliver a photo gallery to her and I get a text saying they’re her favorite photos ever.

Every moment in life is the most important. That concept is amplified when someone has a baby since they’re physically changing so quickly and obviously. It’s such a good metaphor for embracing the present moment and treating every day like it’s a celebration- because. it is <3

Flow Arts Downtown Denver Photoshoot

Downtown Denver Circus/Flow Arts Photoshoot

Ana and I have followed each other on instagram for awhile and we were finally able to connect for a photoshoot a few weeks ago. She brought her hoops and flowed for me while we explored this cool area in Denver with bridges and murals. Ana’s energy is awesome. She’s a great performer and I loved spending time together to get these cool photos. Ana is originally from the east coast and moved out to Colorado several years ago, but she’s been doing circus performance for a long time. I’m so inspired and fully believe in supporting artists and people who follow their passions. A work/play balance is crucial to life, but being able to incorporate play in your work like Ana does inspires me so much. <3

Jessie is a PhD student in Colorado. She is so smart and a great person to be around. She’s such a conversationalist and has the best intentions as a friend and person. Jessie only needed a new photo for LinkedIn account, so we did a 25 ish minute session by the creek in Golden and I had over 50 photos to send her by the end of it. I always take more photos than necessary! The creek spot was perfect for what we needed. We grabbed drinks at Golden City Brewery afterwards- perfect end to a session <3

Andrew and Estelle- Rocky Mountain Sky Pond Proposal Photographer

Andrew & Estelle - Rocky Mountain Sky Pond Proposal Photographer

I’ve only known Andrew and Estelle for about 4 months, but they are already 2 of my closest friends. They’re both such kind people. Estelle is always paying attention to details for organizing things for our big friend group and being such a good host whenever we go to hers and Andrew’s house. She lets me borrow her clothes all the time and is the best about remembering things to do for other people when they ask her for a favor. Andrew has the best energy to be around. Literally always smiling, down for any adventure and always the life of the friend group. So obviously when we all woke up early on a Saturday, Andrew was the first one up at 3:30 am to start our adventure. Our group of 9 people hiked the 11 miles to Sky Pond to see our friends get engaged! All I feel is love and gratitude for all of these beautiful people. This location was perfect for a proposal. Afterwards, we had lunch and drank some champagne together. Andrew and Estelle have been together for 8 years and I’m so happy they’re finally officially getting married.

Lindsay and Sean’s Boulder, CO Intimate Mountain Wedding

Lindsay & Sean’s Boulder, CO Intimate Mountain Wedding

Lindsay and Sean met at a comedy club one night when Lindsay didn’t really want to go out with her friends but reluctantly agreed to go. After that night, they discovered so many commonalities among their friends, values and beliefs. They are such a cool, sweet couple. They bought a house in Boulder and have been completely renovating it on their own. Gardening, setting up outdoor lights, building sheds, garages, installing countertops and flooring in the kitchen- everything!! They even renovated a van together to travel in. Despite the persistent rain on their day, it let up at the last second and they decided to have their ceremony outside as planned in the area that they built benches and a ceremony arch for! This rainy mountain wedding was beautiful.

This photoshoot with Ryann was beautiful. The last time we saw each other was in February! 6 months later, we got together to make more magic for Ryann’s business. We wanted to take advantage of the beautiful wildflowers in Boulder so we found a pretty, secluded open field to take some photos at before going to Boulder creek. I love spending an hour or so with Ryann to take photos and talk about life.

Colorado Sunrise Hike - Indian Peaks Wilderness - Lake Isabelle

Colorado Summer Sunrise Hike - Indian Peaks Wilderness - Lake Isabelle

August 6th 4:55am-7:18am

I woke up at 3:45am for this hike. I drove to Ward while listening to Clozee’s new song “Falling in Love” and thought about how grateful I am to live in Colorado and be able to go for sunrise hikes on Friday mornings. I saw a shooting star a few minutes into the drive and endless stars the rest of the way.

It was only 45 degrees when I started hiking, but it got warmer quickly. I got to the lake just as the sun was coming up and changing color on the mountains. I only saw 1 other person on the way up to the lake on this hike. It’s so healing for me to go for early morning hikes in my own company. I’m able to get out of my mind a little and be more present and grateful for all the natural things in front of me. It always takes a little convincing to get myself out of bed so early, but sunrise hikes are superior <3

Tower, Minnesota July 2021

Vacations with my family are more important to me now than they’ve ever been. It’s the only time we all actually get to full relax together. Usually, I’m the only one on vacation when I visit Illinois. So the week we all spent in Northern Minnesota doing nothing but swim, canoe, read and make meals together was incredible.

It was a restorative week of listening to my body and mind’s needs. I taught myself more about slowing the pace of the my life down and being more intentional each day. Why spend time doing things that are unfulfilling or that cause stress?

Each moment of life is magic, every moment is the most important and no moment can be relived.

I’ve spent the past 3 months or so recommitting my life to doing things that align with my beliefs and having stronger boundaries with work and rest. Because we’re humans, we are innately worthy of receiving good things and enjoying life. I do my best to treat each moment of life as a ceremony- because it is. Since shifting my thoughts to this new perspective, I’ve been able to get myself to a better mental place than I’ve been at in over 6 months, but I would not have gotten here without choosing to fully trust myself to make huge changes. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s always the perfect time to change your life <3

This wedding started at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. The ceremony was at the foothills of the Flat Irons, then we drove up Flagstaff mountains for some amazing views (including a TORNADO) before going to the Flagstaff house for their reception and dinner. Erik and Sarah are great together. They had lots of down time to be present together. Their intimate wedding was beautiful and allowed them to connect with the select few friends and family who were there for them. Boulder weddings always amaze me!

- Fatima and Roy’s Wedding - I’ve known Fatima and Roy since middle school and this was such a beautiful day to be a part of. I cried during their vows, first dances and a few other times. Weddings are so special to me. I get to watch people in love be their truest selves together for an entire day and document it all. It’s one of the most emotionally inspiring things to witness <3

Andie and I met each other when we were in middle school while doing gymnastics together in Illinois. 10 + years later, we both ended up in the Denver area and reconnected! Andie is a life coach in Denver and helps people shift their mindsets through neurolinguistic programming. Andie is SO kind, energetic and inspiring. She left her corporate job to do what she loves. We did this photo shoot on a rainy morning at 7am and had the best time using the beautiful space at Realm. Andie’s business has such important values revolving around finding personal passions and incorporating self care. It’s easy to be hard on yourself and have low self worth about careers and life, but Andie helps people know and discover their worth.
